From the recordings that produced ‘Drums Between the Bells’ – the acclaimed collaboration between Brian Eno and poet Rick Holland – comes an all-new EP,
‘Panic Of Looking’.
In celebration of Eno’s presentation of 77 Million Paintings at Moogfest 2011, we are delighted to announce that the EP will receive an exclusive early release at the festival and its hometown Asheville’s Harvest Records.
In addition, Warp Records will host a listening party for the EP at Harvest Records from Noon, Saturday October 29. Attendees will receive a Warp download sampler created especially for Moogfest 2011.
Those of you not in Asheville this weekend will need to wait until the EP is on general release throughout the US and the rest of the World on 7th / 8th November.

“It is, frankly, classic Eno.” - BBC Music (UK)
“A fascinating, magnetic experiment in sound” - Los Angeles Times (US)
“Striking speaking voices … recite [Rick] Holland’s lines, which express cosmic wonderment and artistic ambition. Then Mr. Eno stretched and tweaked those recordings to bring out quirks in the speakers’ enunciation and tone, and, pushing the songs further into a realm of artificiality, added a glitchy electronic soundtrack.” - New York Times (US)
“Brian Eno’s second album for Warp Records is a gem. Words by poet Rick Holland are set against lush soundscapes and subtle, hazy melodies. Superb.” - **** Big Issue (UK)
“A tapestry of pillowy synths, minor-key melodies, chiming guitars and skittering drums.” - Wired (US)
Conceived by Eno as “visual music”, 77 Million Paintings is a constantly evolving sound and image-scape born from his exploration of light as an artistic medium and his interest in the aesthetic possibilities of generative software. Eno will also present one of his highly informative ‘Illustrated Talks’ during the Moogfest 2011 weekend.
